License Transaction Error-Solidworks

 License Transaction Error Troubleshooting:-

Blog post about the SOLIDWORKS activation error notice.

Error notice upon activation, standalone license

What exactly is stand-alone activation?

When activating and deactivating the SOLIDWORKS license, your computer talks with the SOLIDWORKS Activation manager.

The PC is registered by the Activation Manager for two reasons:

To verify that your license is not being abused

To make it easier to discover and troubleshoot activation problems.

This usually goes off without a hitch. However, you may occasionally obtain an error message.

What exactly does it say?

Errors in deactivation

It is critical that you take note of the activation error notice or snap a screenshot when it appears.

If you do this, identifying the problem will be lot easier if you need to contact your SOLIDWORKS Value Added Reseller (VAR).

When I work in support, this is by far the most common error message I get. Typically, the user has obtained a new PC and has installed SOLIDWORKS on this machine. However, the license on the old machine has not been disabled. To resolve this, launch SOLIDWORKS on your old machine, navigate to "Help"-> "Deactivate License," and follow the onscreen steps.

If you are unsure which machine the license is active on, please contact your VAR; they should be able to assist you. If your old computer has crashed and you are unable to open your old SOLIDWORKS, you should contact your VAR, who will be able to assist you with deactivating your license. You should only have your VAR deactivate your license as a last resort because you will not be able to activate the license on the computer again.  This brings us to the following error notice.

The computer has been disabled.

This error message will display if SOLIDWORKS disables your license manually.

If you haven't been able to disable it yourself, your VAR will normally request it.

This error notice indicates that you have surpassed the standard number of license transfers.

This notice usually shows after you deactivate your license.

To ensure that the license is not overused, the deactivation count for standalone licenses is set to 999 by default.

If you encounter this problem notice, please contact your VAR since they will need to contact SOLIDWORKS to increase the number of transfers.
